Godzilla: Defense Force: Click Bait for Godzilla Enthusiasts

      I am a bit biased to clicker games. I have to admit that. There is something about a clicker title that screams out, “press the screen randomly, fight that creature or do that task and then click until you feel safe enough that when you log out of the game, the actions of the game make more money while your away so that when I log back in i have all this loot I didn’t have to do anything for.
 

 This new Godzilla clicker has that. Its a staple to clickers after all. The thing  that makes this game different is it’s free to play, pay to get these collectable cards that span decades of the Godzilla mythology. Im a sucker for kaiju and the first Godzilla legitimately scared me. To know that these monsters were here, you had to send little people to fight them, then you got them as a card to use against the kaiju onslaught, that is whats sucking me into the game now.

 The gameplay is as follows: you start out on a base, sending in your military men to fight waves of  creatures. This anime girl is walking you through steps to upgrade and build up your taps and army base. Building up means stronger people, and as the enemies that come in are stronger and stronger, you need a more and more powerful base. Eventually you unlock the bazooka guys and then the army tank base. These guys pull all their effort along with your tapping to take out these minor monsters. At the end of three waves, a kaiju comes and you have to take it down. Once you do, you unlock its card. along with the men and your tapping, you get three cards to attack the kaiju with.

Rinse and repeat. Thats all there is.

The bonkers-ness of aliens sending kaiju to wipe out humanity. Collecting them in card form to combat them. The game telling you that, “oh. Thats 1966 Godzilla. Thats Ebirah from 1966.” I just nerd over it. Yes, it has ALL of the free to play trappings. The cheapest card is $9.99. There are $99.99 gems that unlock more card packs and a Ghidorah card pack is $39.99. This was made for enthusiasts, nerds like myself and people who are ‘whales’ of the mobile game life who drop almost $1,000 on their favorite mobile game to show support. In the end, though, I won’t spend a cent on the game BUT i will play it in my free time to enjoy it.
